ie 8 freeeezing
I'm not sure it's an IE 8 Problem but I thought i'd blame that. Been off for a bit but come back to the sam eold problem, everytime I try and open up IE it freezes before it gets to my home page google, it takes about 6/7 attempts, to aventually get it to come up. I've claened out all my browsing history.
None of you guys would know what to do wouldja?

Re: ie 8 freeeezing
yeah...sorta.....I'm having similar problems. My HDs are too small (80 gigs each). So I decided to change a few things. I got 2x320 gig hard drives today, and over Easter I'm going to start from scatch with everything. re-install XP and all the software. Buggar of a job, but I got 4 days to do it all, then I'll have a fresh computer again.....with a heap more HD space.

Re: ie 8 freeeezing
I'd Wait till Tuesday (US Time) and see if there is going to be another patch from MicroShite. I.E. 8 is real unstable, and M$ only released it to kill XP and force us to VISTA. Seriously Love you aught to think hard about going to FIREFOX. Fire Fox is such a better browser in every way !

Re: ie 8 freeeezing
I installed IE8 back when they first rolled it out on a Beta but didn't like it's functionality (can't remember why now)... so I rolled back after a day ditched it for IE7... I run Firefox as well (interestingly firefox portable can bypass my works access blocker for non work sites) but IE7 is my main browser.

That's because Firefox Portable uses an Http Proxy to serve pages though a Public server, the traid off is speed because a remote server loads your page and then serves it to you

Re: ie 8 freeeezing
I used to use Firefox. As I liked to check wether the websites I created ran in both.
But then IT guy from my last company freaked and uninstalled it from my puta.
...not very nice is it?
Mut admit tho, this was happening in IE7 before I swapped. It's almost like It's a connection problem, but I'm fine with our works server.
Odd.
I've cleaned out all the temp directories, re-registered all the IE drivers.
Stumped.

Before jumping to Internet explorer 8 .... did you uninstall ANY software....?????
I only ask b/c you said... IE7... gave you a problem...
So i'm assuming... you jumped to IE8 to solve it....
If you uninstalled a software.... I'm wondering if you inadvertely deleted drivers and support files to run your IE...???
Have you tired uninstalling IE8 and re-installing IE7?
I wonder if that would help you... seeing as IE7 is more stable than IE8....????

Re: ie 8 freeeezing
Why is it that the only time I installed firefox, I had problems with it? And immediately reverted to IE7? Okay so I like sheep...at least they don't bite...they only nibble. But seriously, I found firefox a bit daunting. Maybe I should try again, but I've never had problems with IE7
